Money is the most important pillar of the modern economy, and all modern values are equated with and measured by it. The manifestation of money in popular culture, especially in proverbs, is of great importance in analyzing society's attitude towards this phenomenon, as it is popular culture that reveals the intersection of ancient moral culture with the ethics arising from the element of money. The nature of money is a convention that transcends its limits and creates a new world that is not without conflict, but the monetary society resolves these conflicts over time. This raises the question of what relationship society's perspective, as reflected in the mirror of proverbs, has with the norms of monetary culture. This article, using a descriptive and qualitative analysis method, demonstrates the manifestation of Georg Simmel's thought regarding the nature and properties of money in popular culture and examines the category of credit and monetary value in conflict with traditional values. The premise is that economy- and money-centered proverbs, by revealing psychological, historical, ethical, sociological, and philosophical dimensions, can act as a concrete mediator, showcasing the pure form of exchangeability and mutual interaction. "Money" is a structural factor for understanding the totality of life. "Money" is important in the experience of freedom and liberation, reification, the displacement of quality by quantity, and also in determining the relationship between the objective and the subjective.
