Improving their quality and standards is key to ensuring the advancement of knowledge and strengthening its connection within social and cultural context. Based on thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with twenty-two faculty members from Allameh Tabataba'i University, this article seeks to identify the supervisory styles employed by faculty and assesses their views on opportunities and challenges they face in fulfilling this role. According to three continuums - the level of engagement, supervisory method, and attention to students' behavioral and personality characteristics-the main supervision styles can be categorized into five: delegators, disciplined caregivers, emotional supporters, personal and collaborative mentors, each with subcategories. These styles are shaped less by formal organizational rules and frameworks and more by personal experiences, preferences, power dynamics within the university, subcultures around these dynamics, and situational factors, leading to various opportunities and limitations for faculty members. رساله‌ها و پایان‌نامه‌ها بخش مهمی از فرایند تولید دانش در دانشگاه‌ها و مراکز آموزش عالی به شمار می‌آیند و ارتقای کیفیت و استانداردهای آنها تضمین‌کننده توسعه دانش و پیوند بیشتر آن با متن اجتماعی و فرهنگی است. با اتکا به تحلیل مضمون مصاحبه‌های نیمه‌ساخت‌یافته با بیست و دو عضو هیئت علمی دانشگاه علامه طباطبایی، مقاله حاضر به دنبال شناسایی سبک‌های سرپرستی به کار گرفته شده اعضای علمی و ارزیابی آنها از فرصت‌ها و چالش‌هایی است که در مسیر ایفای این نقش با آن رو‌به‌رو می‌شوند. بر اساس سه پیوستار، سطح درگیری در نقش، شیوه نظارت و نیز توجه به خصوصیات رفتاری و شخصیتی دانشجویان، گونه‌های اصلی سبک‌های سرپرستی را می‌توان در پنج دسته واگذارکنندگان، مراقبین منضبط، حامیان عاطفی، مربیان فردی و مربیان مشارکت‌جو تفکیک کرد و در ذیل آنها گونه‌های فرعی را نیز شناسایی کرد. سبک‌های به‌کار‌گرفته‌شده بیش از آنکه حاصل قواعد و چهارچوب‌های مدون سازمانی باشند برآمده از تجارب، سلیقه‌ها و مناسبات قدرت در دانشگاه و خرده‌فرهنگ‌های شکل گرفته حول آن و نیز شرایط اقتضایی هستند و به تناسب، فرصت‌ها و محدودیت‌هایی را برای اساتید به همراه می‌آورند. http://www.jicr.ir/article_546_ed265bc903a5a097f61d3ec064d96d2e.pdf
